1st Attempt of Ring Nebula m57

Postby andrewscomputers » Wed May 24, 2017 10:42 pm

Hi all this is my first attempt of the ring nebula last night,it is not very good as I had to contend with high cloud in the atmosphere and I am hoping to get a better image on Thursday night as hopefully will be better conditions.Hope you enjoy.
Thanks
Andy

There is a chance of some clear skies in the next few days. However, the Ring nebula will be a lot higher and in a darker sky in a few month's time, so don't be too disappointed.
I use an 11" Celestron SCT (CPC 1100) on an equatorial wedge, housed in a 2.2m Pulsar observatory. I use a ZWO ASI1600MC and Canon 500D for imaging.

Hi Aratus thanks for your comments,I did see the space station three times that night but could not get an image as it was moving quite fast across the sky.I am going to try and have a go at the dumbbell nebula, but I could not see it that night.
Thanks
Andy
