9th April - 4th September
Spaceport, Merseyside
£9.50 adults, £6.50 children

Extremely rare fragments of the moon’s surface, loaned by NASA, will be just one small but unique element of an exhibition first at Spaceport in Merseyside. Spaceport’s spectacular new exhibition, One Small Step, opens on Thursday 9th April and celebrates the 40th anniversary of the moon landings.

As part of their preservation, the fragments of lunar rock, retrieved by an Apollo mission and encapsulated in a disk of Lucite, can only be on show for three periods of the exhibition – between April 9th to 24th; May 22nd to June 1st and; July 28th to September 4th.

The exhibition will show images, film and detailed models the landmark stages that led to the historic moment of the moon landing on July 20th 1969. A range of displays, interactive activities, meteorites and unique space memorabilia will be brought together for the first time. The exhibition will also showcase the future of space-travel and the hope for travel to other worlds; until now only a dream.

From 9th April a single entry fee allows access to the exhibition and all of Spaceport’s other galleries, including its interactive exhibits, motion simulator ride and state of the art planetarium show.

Spaceport costs £9.50 for adults and £6.50 for children and is open 10.30am with last entry 4.30pm Tuesday to Sunday (open every day during Easter school holidays).
