Another ROSETTA surprise!

Hi gang,

Space probes just keep on throwing up more and more surprises! This one is from ROSETTA, following comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. The probe has found an abundance of molecular oxygen in the comet. This is strange because oxygen is highly reactive and should have quickly dissipated and certainly should not have been detected in such large quantities. To read the full science brief go here http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Space_Science/Rosetta/First_detection_of_molecular_oxygen_at_a_comet

To me astronomy is looking up and thinking "What the heck is going on up there!!"
