AR10875 heads towards the limb

Postby Pete Lawrence » Fri May 05, 2006 6:56 pm

Hi all, this spot has given me my first real 'surface' practice target on the Sun, so it feels kinda special to me! Aaahhh.

Here is a shot of it from the 3rd of May 2006, approaching the Sun's limb. As soon as I've got the 50Gb of data covering a few other days off my laptop, I'll post these images too...

Pete MORE amazing images! There's some lovely detail in that image. I really get the feeling that the spot is wrenching at the photosphere; you can see what an effect the magnetic field lines are having on the surface material. Brilliant!

Hi Pete,
Superb pictures with plenty of detail. Superbly captured.
John.
To me astronomy is looking up and thinking "What the heck is going on up there!!"
