AstroFest 2008

Postby ian ridpath » Sat Dec 22, 2007 7:06 pm

I am delighted to announce that Patrick Moore will again be appearing at AstroFest in 2008. The dates are February 8–9 and the venue is, as usual, Kensington Town Hall (which now calls itself Kensington Conference and Events Centre). Other headline speakers include comet discoverer David Levy; the originators of GoogleSky, Alberto Conti and Carol Christian from the Space Telescope Science Institute; special effects wizard Mat Irvine; and the ever-present Allan Chapman. You can see the full programme and list of exhibitors here: AstroFest 2008.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Ian Ridpath,
Conference chairman

Thanks Ian. I'll be helping out at the SPA stand on the Saturday so why not pop along and say hi?

Any idea when tickets go on sale. I've never been and think I might make the effort this time.

Thanks Ian. I was being a bit lazy and hadn't looked as I didn't think they'd be on release yet.

In a change to the previously published programme, David Rothery of the Open University will be talking at AstroFest on Friday morning about the first results from the Messenger flyby of Mercury. He will also be appearing in the February Sky at Night TV programme but here’s your chance to see him live on the West End stage!
