Aurora Alert for tonight, Thur 9th Nov

Thu Nov 09, 2006 11:03 pm

Hey everyone. OK looking good. Solar wind has not hit yet, wind speed is still low but the imf is playing ball. Now down to -14. I think Scotland will see Aurora tonight ( if people north keep checking) and N Ire might also see Aurora. At this stage Eng chances of seeing Aurora is low. Though keep checking north. Skies terrible here!!

"They came and went, but I expect more later in the night," reports Jeremy Lombardo of Oswego. The cause of the display: a solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field. Stay tuned for updates.
