Big Hi from Nedster

Come and say hello to your fellow Sky at Night Magazine fan

Big Hi from Nedster

Postby tma1 » Wed Aug 09, 2006 10:30 am

Hello everybody!

I'm REALLY new to this game, so I'm probably going to be the one asking all the dumb questions!

I've always had a fasination with the sky at night, but never had the time/money etc etc to do more than sit out with a pair of cheap bins and have a look around. I know a few basic constellations and that's about it! Lucky for me though my GF bought me a Celestron NexStar SLT130 for my birthday so I can delve a little deeper into the dark. I'm based in the NW, in the Ribble Valley, and answer to Ned, or Nedster - take your pick.

Hopefully this forum will also help to enrich my viewing experience[;)]

Look forward to meeting some of you regulars soon.

Bye fer now.

Welcome to the group.

You'll find that everyone here is friendly and helpfull.

Couldn't decide if 'GF' (from your post) was :

Girlfriend,
God Father,
Grand Father or
Goldfish.

Hi Ned,
Welcome to this friendly and informative forum.
Very few questions you can ask are considered dumb, we were all new to the hobby once! Ask away, there are plenty of people on this forum who are only too happy to help.
John.
To me astronomy is looking up and thinking "What the heck is going on up there!!"

Hello Ned and welcome. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The only way we learn is to ask questions. We were all novices and beginners at some time! I've been doing this astronomy thing (lately I call it cloud watching) since I was about 8 and I am now 42, and I still feel the need to ask others their advice!

So ask away!!!!!!

Hi Ned,

I'm a newbie to the forum too, and from what I've seen so far, it seems a really friendly place.

Hope you have loads of fun with the NexStar, that's a nice neat scope (and a very generous gold fish) you've got there [:)]
