Can I plug my book?? DARK:The AtoZ Of Astronomy & The Cosmos

Postby JamesWilkins » Wed Sep 05, 2018 7:30 pm

Hello everyone,

I hope you don't mind me posting here to shamelessly plug and try to drum up some support for my book?

If it's any consolation, this project definitely isn't with the expectation of long-term financial gain... this is definitely somewhat of a labour of love!

My book DARK: The A to Z OF Astronomy & The Cosmos is hopefully to be published with UNBOUND - who are fantastic but involved achieving a number of pre-orders before they print... hence me lurking around and helping to spread the world.

The book follows an A to Z format with each chapter covering a different subject matter in under 1000 words. And each chapter is accompanied by a piece of original art representing, often abstractly, representing that subject.

I hope that perhaps some of you find it interesting and perhaps might even consider pre-ordering a copy! If you don't like the look or sound of it, then thank you for making it this far into the post.

You can have a look at the book on UNBOUND's website, searching for DARK.

Thanks for your time!
James

Personally, I have no objections (but see my sig); do you have any examples of the text that you can use to give us a preview?

I would be interested in seeing the index and perhaps an example chapter.

Either way, good luck with it.

Regards

I'm a writer and living proof that it doesn't make one rich! I recommend that you state who the intended audience is and what topics are covered. As a potential purchaser with a very limited supply of money, I'd want to know if it is going to tell me anything that other books I have read haven't already. I would like to know whether it would help me understand cosmology or help me get better photos with my DSLR.

You might also like to create your own website, as I have done.
