Thank you for posting your February report which I found interesting because you confirmed my suspicion that the Sun would be quiet over the period and I too enjoyed the half Moon of 23rd February 2018 which had Aldebaran, (the brightest star in Taurus the Bull and the 14th brightest of all the night stars), very close below and to the right of the Moon. Did you manage to capture any pictures of this Moon with Aldebaran included? I ask because it would demonstrate that a bright Moon doesn’t always blot out nearby stars. I am a fan of the 10 000 Maniacs unplugged album, my favourite track is ‘Like the weather’.

Thanks, Spartan. I don't usually take widefield photos of the Moon when it is close to bright stars. More commonly, I take photos when it is close to planets.
