Hi from Cambridge

Come and say hello to your fellow Sky at Night Magazine fan

Hi from Cambridge

Hello everyone.

New member from Cambridge area. I'm 26 years old. I haven't looked up since uni days in Sheffield where i read Physics and Astronomy. I am now looking into bringing my love for the heavens into my back garden and beyond. I've lost touch with the scope market. Any advice on good 'starter' scopes would be most welcome. Am only interested in observing for the forseeable future and remembering my way around the sky.

Looking forward to getting back into it.

Hi there Moose,

Welcome to the forum. I've only been here a shot while myself, but have leant (sp) a lot in the month or so I have been here. Hopefully, you will learn too, but most of all enjoy it.

People on here are friendly and helpful, and best of all, more than willing to help with those questions that are stumping us new boys on the block.

Wishing you all clear skies,
just startin

Hi Moose
Welcome to this very friendly forum, glads to have you aboard.
If you are just wanting to get back into observing and finding your way about, then the best scope for you would be a Dobsonian. You can buy a fairly large aperture Dob for relatively little money!
Best Wishes
John.
To me astronomy is looking up and thinking "What the heck is going on up there!!"
