Kielder star camp this month!

Postby Caithnessman » Mon Apr 03, 2006 6:36 pm

Hi,

Thought I'd let you know there is going to be a spring Kielder Star Camp at Kielder 21-23 April. This is the first time they've held one in spring, so I thought I'd spread the word from my neck of the woods.

I'm not going to lie to you, camping in Northumberland in April is going to be cold, but that's what astronomy's about!

See:

for further details.

Thanks for the heads up Sarah,
Might try this one out myself. Maybe see you there!
John.
To me astronomy is looking up and thinking "What the heck is going on up there!!"

Cheers Sarah. Two of us from Astro Soc Glasgow have booked a pitch through Gary F. So see you there. If the weathers bad, I hear the local pub is okay.

Just back from an hour and a half in Glen Fruin (next to Loch Lomond) - perishing cold and a stiff breeze - but had a look at the moon, Saturn and M84/85/86/87 in Virgo - poor seeing conditions, so was glad to see the "fuzzies".

Hi,

I'm not sure how much entry is (if there is an entry fee), but I think it's £6 to pitch a tent. Best to contact the organiser, Gary Fildess, to be sure.
