LEEDS AS ASTROMEET
University of Leeds, Dept of Music, Clothworkers Hall; [color=#FF0000][b]7 November[/b][/color], all day from 9am.
A day of astro–talks from top speakers with trade stands, refreshments and a Victorian flavour to mark the 150th anniversary of the society. Doors open 9am. Admission: £10 adults; £5 students, under-18s. See http://www.leedsastronomy.org.uk for more details.
Leeds Astronomy Society is 150 years old this year and to celebrate, its popular annual Astromeet will have a Victorian theme.
The day of events starts at 10am on Saturday 7 November with a programme of talks from five of the foremost speakers on current and historical aspects of space and astronomy, including Dr Alan Chapman and Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell. There will be breaks for refreshment, chatting and browsing among the astro-trade stands.
All are welcome to come and help celebrate Leeds AS’s birthday. Doors at the venue, the University of Leeds Music Department, open at 9am and close at 6.30pm.
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for full-time students with a card and under-18s.
