I've just watched the sky at night, were the Leonids not mentioned in this lastest show? and is the peak at around the 16th 17th this year?

The Leonid swarm is at the far side of its orbit, hence the peak rate is expected to be fairly low this year. Max (ZHR 20) predicted for Nov 18d 00h ... the moon is a nuisance ... Taurids much more favourable, a lower max rate but brighter, slower meteors, no moon to interfere and radiant higher in the sky (and more convenient for evening viewing). Unfortunately you've missed the best of these (max Nov 5th) though there should be some residual activity until the moon swamps them out.

HI There,
I saw two first magnitude meteors within seconds of each other in the South-East last night(22nd) which seemed to come from the direction of Leo,it seems a bit late for them to have been Leonids,I dident record them properly as Jupiter was getting most of the attention.[:)]
Regards Les.
