Get a heads up on the best celestial events to observe

This will be total around sunrise but will be better placed from Scotland and northern England. Although not as spectactular as a total solar eclipse, it can always throw up a surprise. If you can drag yourself put of bed around 4-ish you shouls be able to catch all of the action but the best bits should be from 6am onwards.

ha no chance! Be fast asleep till about 8 when the kids get us up!

I am really looking forward to the solstice eclipse on the 21st December it should be cool and I will be doing what I can about imaging it. And don't forget the partial solar eclipse on the morning of the 4th of January 2011. Good times ahead clouds willing

Let's hope neither go the way the Geminids have for me this year.
