I am a new astronomer and I have been taking every opportunity to check out new things that I can find in the sky. The last few nights I have been battling partly cloudy skies that seem to take over just in time for me to get my telescope ready for use. Tonight, I set up and found a break in the sky that lasted only 20 minutes or so but I was able to grab my first glimpse at M42. After I had my share, I showed off my new finding to my fiancee and brother. What a great experience!

Makes observing even more enjoyable when you can share your finds with others.
