Sky at Night program

A fellw forum member astronomy club just posted tghis

"I wasn't impressed with this months SaN TV episode.. very poor...the stuff with the university students was embarrassing and shocking really. And the bit with Lintot walking around the woods was ..well...I don't know...."

MY comment is

"It really is NOT a good program now, in my opinion for Amature Astronomers and beginners, more the Chris Lintott show"

In fact I don't bother watching it now ...

Prinz astral 500R Reflector telescope

Ok this is corny, I am over 60 now but my first telescope was this one.

I would dearly love to own it one last time. Again.

I know it is classed as no good now but .....

Sky at Night equatorial platform

I am trying to build the equatorial platform as described in SaN Nov and Dec issues.
I'm reasonably competent at DIY but I'm struggling with the very brief instructions.
The Dec issue bonus content does not appear to have any additional photos as the magazine suggests (or techniques for alignment), and there is no overall inventory or description of all the pieces you have to make, just a set of drawings for the north and ...

I was under the impression that writing essays was a method of assessing a person's knowledge, understanding and grasp of a particular subject. :o If the work is too hard for you, don't do the course! :shock:

Sky at Night competitions

Can anyone explain why S@N competitions are always for UK readers only? As a resident of another country I have been paying my subscription for many, many years. Why am I excluded from competitions? What's so hard about giving an Amazon voucher to someone in another country? Amazon is international and so is the magazine. We're all in the same galaxy, people.
