Is anyone else going to the SPA event Starting from Scratch on 23rd Feb 2008 which is being held near Amersham, Berks.

Astrofest brief report

First of all thanks to Steve and Ted at Telescope House for their kindness, and the invite/pass. Hope that you guys have a good days business/session today (saturday), and also to Steve Chambers of Artemis again for the kind invite, and the great looking stand filled with many great pics taken with the Artemis and Atik cameras.

UK Space Conference '08

From the 26th to the 29th of March, there is going to be a space conference at Charterhouse school in Surrey. There should be lots of interesting lectures on a range of topics from astronomy to industry and governmental activities. There will also be a careers fair, networking opportunities and the Sir Arthur Clarke Awards. Anyway, keep your eyes open for it and check it our at http://spaceconference.org.uk/.

AstroFest 2008

I am delighted to announce that Patrick Moore will again be appearing at AstroFest in 2008. The dates are February 8–9 and the venue is, as usual, Kensington Town Hall (which now calls itself Kensington Conference and Events Centre). Other headline speakers include comet discoverer David Levy; the originators of GoogleSky, Alberto Conti and Carol Christian from the Space Telescope Science Institute; special effects wizard Mat Irvine; and the ever-present Allan Chapman. Hi everyone long time without posting, :-)

Just thought I would make everyone aware of a lecture I will be giving to the Torbay Astronomical Society on March 20th 2008.

North Essex Astronomical Society

The North Essex Astronomical Society has members from quite a wide reaching area of Essex and we aim to cater for keen enthusiasts of all abilities and interests. Our public meetings are held in Rivenhall End, near Witham. We also have our own dark site observatory near Earls Colne for any Society members.
