Buying my first light filter. HELP !!!

Could anybody give me advice on getting a light filter. I have heard that some give artificial colours, i would rather not have one of these.
Would i be able to get something reasonable for around £50 ??

I'm using a 4 1/2" f4.5 reflector and an 8" f4 reflector Any replies appreciated

Hi Ninian,

Thanks for that, I've played around with the idea of getting an LPR filter but is there one that can also enhance nebula's, DSO's etc ,etc.??

Cheers

I'm new to astronomy, and have just been observing the night skies for about 8-9 months now. I have a 114mm by 500mm focal lenght Reflector and a 203mm by 800mm focal length Reflector. I first observed Jupiter then Saturn, Venus, Mars and most recently M43 the Orion Nebulae, But although seeing these objects for the first time was amazing, the images weren't that clear, so i would now like to find out how i ...

New scope advice

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a Skywatcher Pro 80ED refractor on an EQ5 mount.

What do you guys think?

I currently own a 8" Skywatcher Newtonian on an EQ3 and would like a small refractor for imaging and poratability.

Excellent Mag and forum by the way.

Thanks

Nettie

Whats wrong?!!!!

I am mnew to this and have just had a peek thru my new( first scope), 70mm. refractor.
The star diagpnal is fitted (Not the image erector) and the view is the right way up. I understand that things should be " upside down"
What am I doing wrong?
Grateful for any help, Pete

Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT - anyone got one ?

I'm a beginner looking to buy a first telescope and should have up to £300 to spend. I'm tempted by this model as I will have to travel to a better viewing location and don't want too much weight or too much set up time.

Can an owner advise me if set up is as easy and accurate as the literature suggests to justify the extra cost over something like a motorised Sky-Watcher ?
