Havent posted for ages

For various reasons I have been a bit inactive astro wise, but here is a picture of the moon I took a few weeks ago with my 40d at the prime focus of an undriven LX10 20cmm SCT (couldnt find a PP3 for the drive!!)

First Go at Webcamming the Moon

I had my first go at dusk tonight, so I could still see what was going on. I also used an 80mm F/5 refractor to get a reasonable field of view.

I've attached the best effort which I think is good, considering the conditions.

Saturn from the 14th/15th

Looked great through the eyepiece but the images I took don't reflect that sadly.

This was the resulting image from about 5000 frames in three movies. I did a second version re-sized a bit that didn't work as well.

Shame really that Saturn is not so high for us this year, but I have seen some really good images out there nonetheless.

Used a Europa 250mm Newtonian reflector, 3 x Barlow, IR filter and ATIK ...
