BAA Back to Basics event - March 5, 2011 in Macclesfield ...

Dear Fellow Astronomer

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend a BAA Workshop. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy a full-day of astronomical talks, plus network with other astronomers and even peruse and purchase equipment/items on display from Stockport Binocular and Telescope Centre, Peak2Valley Instruments and Alpenstock.

Ilkeston & District AS - 30th Birthday Convention: Saturday May 7th 2011

Hi everyone,

Here’s some first details regarding our Society’s 30th Birthday Convention.

Date: Saturday May 7th 2011
Venue: Heanor Welfare Centre, Wilmot Street, Heanor, Derbyshire, DE75 7EF
Ample off-street parking on-site. If that gets full, then there’s also a public car park (pay & display) next to the Welfare Centre.
Wheelchair friendly building
Close to town centre (just 2 minutes walk away).

Doors Open: 9am (starts 9:55am promptly). Event ends approx 5pm.

The next meeting of the Ilkeston & District Astronomical Society takes place on Tuesday February 8th 2011. Venue: Erewash Museum, High Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 5JA. Doors Open: 7:20pm, for 8pm start. This month we are having an informal “Members Evening”. West London Stargazing LIVE!

West of London Astronomical Society (WOLAS) have two public observing sessions arranged, tonight (Saturday 8 Jan) and tomorrow (Sun 9 Jan) in conjunction with BBC Stargazing Live.

Unbelievably, the forecast is now for both to be completely clear! Do come if you are in the area. We will be there 5pm to 7pm (at least) at Ruislip Lido, by The Waters Edge pub.
