Sky at Night Magazine

Hi,
Looking to buy my first serious telescope and looked at a Skywatcher Explorer 150P with EQ3-2 mount, just about the right compromise for my needs.
This months review of the 200 and an older review of the 130PM blow the review of the 150P out of the water. Why is the 6" version of this scope so inferior when compared to the 5" & 8" versions, especially optically.

Any comments, recommendations , experiences this ...

I know the D90 got a great review in one of the recent issues, but does anyone know if the D90 suffers from the "star eating" phenomenon of earlier Nikons? I know it isn't mentioned in the test, so any help would be gratefully received.

In the testing and Analysis section of your tests for the four DSLR's in the May issue, you stated that the video files in the D-90 were compressed. Being a D-90 owner, I thought this was wrong and when I checked the file extension of my videos which I had taken with the D-90, I found that they were '.avi' files. 'AVI' files from what I have worked with and understand are not compressed. I ...

I am a more recent subscriber to the Sky at Night magazine. I noticed in the index that in July 2007 a group test was done on 8" goto systems. Does anyone have the results of that, or would share a summary of the results. I am considering the purchase of a system like that. Thank You!

I have noticed large discrepancies in the price of some of the contenders in the group tests.

The DSLR's in this months issue being a case in point.

The winning Nikon D90 is twice as dear as it's competitors!

Why wasn't it compared with the Canon 450D body (£479) or even the 40D body (£599)

Even the new 500D which has full HD movie mode (of questionable astro use I know, but the same applies ...

I really like the Sky at Night group reviews but what I would like to see is a group test of some recent MEDIUM mounts ( EQ-6 GoTo New versus CGEM ) and of some HEVAY mounts ( Losmandy versus CGE etc... ).
Any chance of getting such a test in one of the upcoming issues?

I'd love to see a shoot out between these two. Are there any plans? If not, I'll travel to a retailer who has an LS35 and do a head-to-head.

This could be a big fight for the entry level H alpha solar telescopes.

Early this year or even the back end of last, the mag did a comparison of Redshift 6 and Starry Night Pro 6 in which the Redshift version came out top, just.

I am looking at CCD cameras at the moment and read the great article in the
magazine but wondered if the Dark Frame, M27 and H-Alpha test shots could
be viewed in their uncompressed states?
I looked on the CD but couldn't find them, it would be nice to view them in
detail along with the article.

Could any one help me with some advice regarding buying some giant binoculars, I have two makes to decide from.
1: Revalation 25X100 giant binoculars.
2: Celestron SkyMaster 20X80 binoculars.
