Sky at Night Magazine

Hi everyone I am from South Wales been doing astrophotography for 4 years now (love it) still havnt got a clue what I am doing half the time but i suppose thats half the fun, Just bought a ZWO ASI 1600 mono cool along with the filters just waiting for some clear nights to acctually use it

I am a retired astronomy teacher (high school and college levels, including operating the planetarium of the university I worked for) and a lifetime astronomy buff. I am hoping to see the total solar eclipse visible across much of the USA on August 21, something I have waited my entire life to see. I would just like to say to the forum,
I was outside with me and my uncle tonight, testing out new pair of binoculars, having a look at the early moon, when low and behold, what did we see; Jupiter underneath the moon; an amazing sight, will never forget it.

Hi all,
Just joined and interested in starting some stargazing. I've read online that is best to start of with good binoculars then move onto telescopes.
Can anyone suggest a good pair of binoculars for stargazing?
I have looked myself and came across "Helios Fieldmaster 10x50 Binoculars" and "Helios Fieldmaster 7x50 Binoculars" but again as Im new I don't know if any of these are suitable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks
