Come and say hello to your fellow Sky at Night Magazine fan

Moon and Jupiter

I would just like to say to the forum,
I was outside with me and my uncle tonight, testing out new pair of binoculars, having a look at the early moon, when low and behold, what did we see; Jupiter underneath the moon; an amazing sight, will never forget it.

Regards,

Hello folks

Just a quick hello. I'm Hajk, 25 years old from The Netherlands.

I have owned a Orion 10" goto dob and I'm looking for something new wich gives me the opportunity to start out with taking pictures since that has always been my goal.

Many, many people told me that despite the urge to start with photography right away I should rather wait a while to see if it's really my thing or not. It ...

Intro

Have been browsing this site for a few weeks and finally decided to join. Hopefully I can get information on astro-imaging thru an early Celestron CCD. However I just enjoy astronomy as a whole, whether its thru a scope or just looking at the sky.

a quick hello and an altaz query

Hi.
Just a quick hello, this forums always serves me well with tips and relevant content. Thanks

Ive been a super keen amateur since my school days and now with 20 years observing through various borrowed scopes and endless binoculars I'm looking to up my astrophotography efforts. I've spend the last 4-5 years taking hundreds of various star trail/Moon shots direct on a D3200 but I'd like to investigate the best I can likely achieve ...

Hello from Northampton, UK

Good evening everyone. I am new to astronomy but have always been interested in science and "how its done" so to speak. I have built the Orrery from Eaglemoss and I am mid way through the Tellurion. There is shed loads to read and since I am retired I have more time than others. I find it fascinating reading about the Philosophers and astronomers of yesteryear, especially when one could lose their head for saying ...

binoculars

Hi all,
Just joined and interested in starting some stargazing. I've read online that is best to start of with good binoculars then move onto telescopes.
Can anyone suggest a good pair of binoculars for stargazing?
I have looked myself and came across "Helios Fieldmaster 10x50 Binoculars" and "Helios Fieldmaster 7x50 Binoculars" but again as Im new I don't know if any of these are suitable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

I am trying to post a hello and a question but apparently it is too spammy.

Morning Everyone!

Hi everyone,

ThinAir (Chris) here, just reaching out and saying hi.

Got my first telescope for Christmas (A Celestron Astromaster 130EQ) as a result of the GF getting fed up of me threatening to buy one and spending most of my time outside at night developing a crick in my neck.

I've also invested a pair of binoculars and a little red-light torch after reading something in a book that said it wouldn't affect my ...

Noob

Hello all!

My name Chris, and I live just north of Toronto, ON. I just registered with Sky At Night Magazine and I am just waiting on the delivery of my first telescope - the Meade ETX 80 Backpack.

Looking forward to asking silly questions, learning new things, meeting good people and picking up this new hobby.

Cheers!

Chris.
