Come and say hello to your fellow Sky at Night Magazine fan

Hello from me

Hello everybody, just wanted to say hello as I am new to this forum, and to astronomy! I wondered which forum to join, but hey, as I grew up with Patrick Moore (RIP) I couldn't really join any other!

After much research, I bought what I thought would be a scope I could use as a starter, but would last me a couple of years into the hobby if I actually got hooked. So I ...

Hello everyone!

Hi My name is Rudy, I finally decided to get myself a telescope as up until now i've only been using a wide angle and a 300mm lens, then a 500mm with a 2x tele and thought what the hell you only live once, so I got a telescope so I can see a little further than the moon. Needless to say I know very little about telescopes, still got to get a power supply ...

Hi All

Jon here from Manchester.

Been into astronomy for more years than I care to remember thanks to my old man.
I have a Celestron 76 at the minute which, due mainly to work and the good old Mancunian weather, has not seen much use of late but I am working to remedy that.

Newbie very slowly learning

Having just started out in this I now realise how much I don't know about the subject. I have bought myself The Cambridge Star Atlas and still haven't got it sussed properly! Saying all that I do love looking at the night sky when the weather down here is clear and not actually raining, which at times doesn't feel very often. But we do get really quite dark nights with very little light pollution.

Hello! Just saw saturn for the first time!

Hello Forum peoples

I've been interested in astronomy for a several years now and I managed to grab a rather cheap skywatcher 4.5" reflector a couple of years ago. I've seen a few things through it.. the moon (twas hard to find), jupiter, the blurry blob of andromeda etc. but it's been a couple of years and I really haven't been hugely impressed for a while... until 30 minutes ago when I saw Saturn for ...
