Thanks again guys. Unfortunately, a week in la Palma has just made me realise how badly light-polluted my sky at home is!

Cheers,

Tim.

Just out of interest, though it's not strictly astronomical I know, I've posted on YouTube an experimental time-lapse sequence I made of the clouds BELOW the road leading up to the observatories on the Roque de los Muchachos. The cloud motion is speeded up 90 times. If you're feeling bored, you can watch it at:

Fantastic, amazing to get such a great shot in a single 3 minute exposure.

Thanks Mike. Having done quite a bit of astrophotography from my garden, under very light-polluted skies, I was amazed at how easy it is to get a decent image with a relatively short exposure under truly dark skies.

Cheers,

Tim.

I can only take 5 seconds of exposure from my garden (LP is not too bad that i know of). Just goes to show though. Hopefully i'll be down on the Algarve in July or Sept. Cant wait to see what results i get from there.
