My first shot of the Sun

Postby yadfak22i » Tue May 26, 2009 12:20 pm

Well after finally building a solar filter, I managed to capture my first image of the sun using my Nikon D50 and 300mm Lens. After processing in CS2 I noticed a spot in the upper right of the sun, which is not on the photo I took on the same day 20mins later, nor is it on the un-processed image, Is this a sun spot or just bad processing (image was in raw format)

I think it's a dust bunny .... disc has been free of large spots for a long time now!

Looks like dust on the lens to me too.

Try again today.

A real sunspot is waiting to be snapped.
