Naming Plutos Moon

Postby mister grimsdale » Sun Mar 03, 2013 2:38 pm

I recently saw an article on the BBC News website where SETI had conducted a poll to decide on a name for one of Plutos moons, the most popular response being "Vulcan". However it went on to say the naming would be down to the International Astronomical Union.
I know that this would be a "coup" for the Star Trek fans out there, but surely there would be no better tribute than for a moon to be called "Moore", in recognition of Sir Patrick? He did so much to inspire so many of us and I think a lasting tribute in the heavens is the least that could be done.
Anyone on this forum with any ideas how this could be taken forward?
