Need a Neptune photo/sketch

Postby karena » Fri Apr 29, 2016 5:45 pm

This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm a professional scientist and an amateur astronomer. I need a picture of Neptune to use for work but it has to be able to be reproduced without attribution, so the standard Voyager 2/ Hubble pictures won't work. Sadly my astrophotography is not up to taking my own picture. Are there any kind folk out there who might be able to let me use one of their images of Neptune? Yours hopefully...

I hope someone else can help you, but Neptune is only 2.2 arcseconds across as seen from the earth. The best I have reflects that small size, and there are no features. I don't expect to do much better even if Neptune wasn't going to be very low down in the sky for a long time to come.

I use an 11" reflector (Celestron CPC 1100) and a 3" refractor, (Sky-Watcher ST80) mounted on an equatorial wedge, housed in a 2.2m Pulsar observatory. I use a ZWO ASI 120MM, ZWO ASI1600MC and Canon 1300D for imaging.
