Neximage or web cam help please

Postby ray » Thu Apr 13, 2006 11:03 pm

I've just bought a neximage camera and would like some help please, I have a skywatcher HEQ5 200mm explorer and would like to know what settings you experianced neximage or web cam users would recommend because I believe the neximage has the same chip as the toucam pro? I would like to know which settings you'd recommend for saturn, jupiter and the moon please, thanks.

The most important piece of information I got from a very good experienced CCD imager was "Adjust it untill it looks good to your eyes".

My settings vary all over the place. I always adjust the shutter and gain untill the image looks ok on the screen. As long as it is in focus and not too bright - registax will bring out all the detail and you will not get an over exposed blob. Also in Registax it helps to turn off the histo-strech feature, then adjust the gamma on the stacked image.
