The North Essex Astronomical Society has members from quite a wide reaching area of Essex and we aim to cater for keen enthusiasts of all abilities and interests. Our public meetings are held in Rivenhall End, near Witham. We also have our own dark site observatory near Earls Colne for any Society members.

The NEAS has two events this month:

Wednesday 17th October - public lecture given by Dr Robert Lambourne called "The Expanding Universe". see neas.me.uk for more details

Friday 19th October - Cressing Temple Astronomy Evening and Star Party. Booking is required, see www.cressingtemple.org.uk for more info.

Hello Dave,
I'm glad I read this post because I thoroughly enjoyed the one last year, albeit the weather wasn't up to much.
If the weather is suitable will members have a viewing schedule?

Thanks - Dave B.

The plan is to have telescope viewing. Obviously we have the problems of light pollution, possible dodgy weather to deal with.

There's also not too many "WOW" things to look at in our time slot. (Moon, Jupiter/Mars possibly, a few deep sky things)
