Afternoon all,

I'm planning on getting out into the countryside tonight to look out for the orionid meteor shower. Is anyone else? Is it worth it?

Not much luck last night. Quite a bit of cloud cover until 1am then tried again at 5, but totally covered. Weather forcast isn't good for the next couple of days, so will have to try again then.

Yeah, the Met Office would do a lot better if they looked at the meteor shower forecast ... the weather is always **** when there's a good meteor shower; I haven't even seen the Perseids for decades.

Saw the Perseids in France this year. Quite simply the most unbelievably stunning experience of my life on this pale blue dot of ours.

That's a shame, there were several fairly clear nights for me around the Perseid peak and I saw quite a few.
