Hi Gang,
Just a quick heads up for the Orionids on the 22 October. A new moon will help with the display this year. Check the details here http://www.space.com/spacewatch/061013_night_sky.html and watch out for Andys (Big Dipper) calender announcement nearer the event!
John.

John, I've got the peak posted for the 21st - so I assume this means the night of the 21st/22nd. [:D] ZHR is 25 & as you rightly point out, the moon will not interfere this year.

I think it's worth saying you should start looking around the 17th/18th for these as has been the case for me for many a year you will see some splendid Meteors in that time and also if it's cloudy on the given dates at least you will of observed some of the up and coming shower. Same can be said of just after the given peak times...

Good luck all, personally i can't wait!

Good point James,
Most people (including myself!) always have a tendancy to mention peak dates and forget the run ups. Thanks for the heads up.

Hoping for clear skies since we've planned to be way outside London for this. In a field, near Corfe Castle :)
