I am overjoyed that this exhibition has actually happened , it is two years to the month since I first got the idea for to bring 21st century sketchers together with 19th and 20th century sketchers.
There are 53 pieces of adults work in the exhibition , including my canvas ( a reproduction of the sketches from Sidereus Nuncius) There are a sample selection of children's moon drawings from an International rainbow of nationalities.
Sir Patrick Moore CBE has contributed seven of his sketches , a peek into his lifetime of sketching.
Lord Rosse ( The 7th Earl of Rosse) , has had four of the 3rd Earls original sketches framed and included them on the walls with the rest of the 20th and 21st Century sketches.
The world famous Whirlpool Galaxy, The Crab Nebula sketched through the 6 ft Leviathan , and through the 3 foot telescope, and H 450 .
So we are literally hanging around with The 3rd Earl
The exhibition is on show till November 1st 2009 at Birr Castle Science Centre , Co Offaly Ireland
