Some of us buy cheap telescopes but our level of disposable income shrinks over time. Our choices are to give up on astronomy or squeeze the last pips out of what we have. </rant>

Out of the options I've seen mentioned, the Skywatcher Startravel 80 is the best option, whether you are stuck with it or are able to get a larger telescope later and you can still use the ST80 for widefield use, rather than trade it in for a low price.
How can I be one with the universe when we don't know what 96% of it is.
