Hi guys. I will put an alert on here for now on regarding Aurora. So for a quick update.

A solar windstream is expected to hit earth late tonight/tomorrow. The stream may be strong enough to cause a geo-magnetic storm, prob G1 or G2.

There is no sign of the wind stream at this time (Friday 8pm) as the solar wind speed is at an easy 300km/second. This should rise to about 500km/second or more when the stream has hit. The stream density is also low at 5.2 this should rise over at the very least 14 or 15.

Lastly the IMF is -1 south, which is ok. The more negative (-4) the number the better as a -0 or below lets more solar windstream hit earth. To put it simply if the imf is north then earths magnetic field wont let any solar windstream in and if its south then earths field is wide open letting everything in.

I will post when solar wind arrives

IMF has been making large dips south and windspeed now increased. Possible start of solar wind in a few hours

The geomagnetic field is
expected to be at quiet to minor storm levels. Isolated major storm
conditions may be possible with the expected onset of a recurrent
coronal hole high speed stream. Isolated active conditions may
occur on 29 October as the coronal hole wanes. A return to quiet to
unsettled conditions is expected on 30 October.
