M45 and Moon - comments please

Postby richard g » Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:56 am

Dear All,

I took the attached image of the moon and M45 last night at 1953hrs using my digital SLR and 70-200 zoom lens. I ve adjusted the image in photoshop by using 'auto levels' only. What I would like to know is have I recorded only the moon and M45 or are some of the 'stars' hot pixels from the camera. From viewing the image at 300% I THINK I've got only stars. Exposure was 2sec at f.28

Best Wishes

Richard

I compared it to other images and it looks like they are all stars.

As you will probably be able to see from my avatar thingy next to my post, from the configuration they do appear to be m45. Quite a stunning picture Richard. Cracking shot.

I was hoping to get some views of this last night myself. And I did get a few glipmpses of the moon through the cloud which were fair whipping across in the wind.

Where were you veiwing from, out of interest?

Andy
