Hi, Can any one advise me as to why the Az and Alt T bolts seem to only operate one way, that is, when i slacken one off to use the corresponding T Bolt it moves one direction but i can not get it to move in the other direction; NEQ6 was purchased with a Sky Watcher 300PDS GOTO last October 2018 from Rother Valley Optical, hope for some advice please.........

Best regards and thanks, Tom..... :)

Hello Tom

Might be a dumb question but are you starting in the middle of the range of adjustment? And also when you have moved it in one direction do you then slacken off that bolt when you tighten the other bolt to move it in the other direction?

Regards

Graeme

I've heard of this problem with this mount before. Take the tube off, and all the weights. Then see if you can adjust it. It is notoriously tight.
I use an 11" reflector (Celestron CPC 1100) and a 3" refractor, (Sky-Watcher ST80) mounted on an equatorial wedge, housed in a 2.2m Pulsar observatory. I use a ZWO ASI 120MM, ZWO ASI1600MC and Canon 1300D for imaging.

Aratus, thanks for the reply, yes!, the guys at Rother Valley said just the same as you, one of their staff has same set up as myself and told me to slacken off the Az & Alt bolts and do the setting by hand then, steadying said tube etc etc, lock the T Bolts to finish that part of the set up, thanks for the reply.

Best regards, Tom..... :)
