Seeing Stars

Postby les » Thu Feb 23, 2006 2:23 am

HI All,
I seem to have a distant memory of a BBC series introduced by Patrick Moore called 'Seeing Stars' I think it was aimed at a young audience and was on in the afternoons I think. Can any one else remember this series. It must have been the early 70's or even late 60's.
Regards Les.

I never saw the series myself (wasn't even born then!) but I do have the companion book (published Dec 1970) to the series, which I bought at a car boot sale.

The TV series was apparently broadcast in 1961 onwards, for 15 minutes, usually at 17:45 on a Monday.

HI Bob,
Thanks for that.I had no idea it went as far back as 1961.I wonder if any survive? A episode would be a interesting inclusion to the cover disc, but knowing the BBC the've been long since scrubed.

Hi Les - if you were interested in obtaining the book that Bob mentioned, you can find one at the following link. They are pretty cheap but only seem to be available in USA but hopefully shipping costs won't be too bad.

By the way, Abebooks is a fantastic internet source for finding just about any book you can think of.

best wishes
