why is the image upsidedown on my new scope?

The Skyhawk1145 was, like many telescopes, designed for astronomical use rather than terrestrial use and the argument ( which is a good one ) is that the less bits of glass and mirrors you have, the 'cleaner' the image you see and in space there is no real up or down so the standard method of production of an astronomical instrument is for it to have the minimum amount of glass required to get a good image - the fact that it is upside down of flipped left to right is of secondary importance!

There is nothing wrong with your telescope.
