No fog this morning for a change. There is a a group of three prominences due north one a large dense loop. Other groups of smaller ones are on the south east and west limbs. A large snake like filament is due north and a broken one near the south east limb. The large sunspot in the north east quarter progresses across the disc accompanied by a large region of plage.

One hour of sunshine, but it was enough! Two large sunspots and one small one surrounded by a large area of plage are due north. Prominences and a filaprom are on the nearby limb. A large prominences is due south accompanied by two filaments. That's all there is to see today.

Small prominences are visible around the limb north east, north west and due east. The largest prominence is due south. Two broad filaments are close by accompanied by plage containing a small sunspot and two other very dark regions, probably filaments.

There are six groups of prominences around the limb. The largest prominence is due south. Long filaments are due south and in the north east quarter. Plages are in the south east and north west quarters. Cannot see any sunspots today.

Lots of small sunspots to see today. There are five different groups with multiple spots in each quarter. Lots of broad filaments also pervade the disc again with some in each quarter.
Prominences are located along the north west limb and due south, east and west. Quite a collection today well worth a look.

Interesting Sun today with threee sunspot regions. The central active region contains about fifteen sunspots of varying size and shape. The north east active region contains around five. A lone sunspot is in the third region east of the other two. The two larger regions are surrounded by plage and another area is located in the south east quarter. Due west a large prominence dominates several others. Two prominence spikes are due north and one due south. A group of smaller ones are on the north east limb. There are broad filaments due north, west and east.

The three sunspot regions are still with us. I have included a more detailed sketch/PS version of the two major ones. Plage surrounds these three regions and a fourth region is central to the disc. Filaments are located within the larger sunspot group and adjacent to it, others are located due north and near the south east limb. Prominences are located due north, south, east and west. the Tallest spike due north. Worth a look.

Very interesting active regions with several Sunspots, umbra and plage. Prominences are small today and located due north, south and west.

Two consecutive days of sunshine, wow! Active region 11164 seen in Theo's superb image of the 280211 continues to progress across the disk. The surrounding region of plage is extremely turbulent. Two large sunspots dominate the activity with surrounding minor spots. Long thin filaments are visible in the pst within this region. A large prominence is located on the south east limb accompanied by a large sunspot just coming into view. Various prominences are located around the remaining limb, large ones due north and west. Within the disc are more regions of plage. Due south is a dark surface region, but no obvious sunspots, possibly a broad filament. A must have a look day!

Hi PaulC
It's been awhile since I was on the forum so I was delighted to see your Solar sketches. It's nice to know I'm not the only one going back to 'old school' forms of recording our nearest star. Hope you don't mind if I occassinally add to your records as it seems our sunny skies don't always coinside.
The weather has been very un-cooperative for many months so my sketches have been few and far between but today I caught a lucky break and recorded a spectacular prominence and superb group of sunspots! I'm hoping tomorrow will be just as lucky!
Keep up the excellent sketches.
Honor
