sunspot 2715

Postby andrewscomputers » Mon Jun 25, 2018 4:59 pm

Hi all I took a couple of shots of the sun today with my 80mm refractor as the sunspot 2715 was still visible, but was quite trick to find as it was a bit small. The first image is just without any barlow and the second is with the 3x barlow and modified the colour on the image. Thanks for looking and thought I would share.

It's shame there are no spectacular sunspots at this moment in the 11 year cycle, but there is no harm in practicing on these 'tiddlers'! The focusing looks nice and sharp.
I use an 11" reflector (Celestron CPC 1100) and a 3" refractor, (Sky-Watcher ST80) mounted on an equatorial wedge, housed in a 2.2m Pulsar observatory. I use a ZWO ASI 120MM, ZWO ASI1600MC and Canon 1300D for imaging.
