I still haven't got a telescope, I use my 10x50 binoculars.
Living in town means light pollution I cannot escape from. So if anyone use a portable telescope costing no more than £400 they can recommend I would be grateful. Let me know how long it takes to set up and ease of use.

Hi Tony - welcome to the S@N forum. I am fairly new to all this myself and as yet am viewing with 20x50 bins. I am considering the following scopes: Skywatcher 1145 (S@N recommended budget scope); Skywatcher 130M (other forum members use this one); Tal - Russian scopes well thought of and good value.

Thanks for the link to your photo site - I am a keen photographer myself and enjoyed your pics. I have yet to set up a site so I will also be checking out the other link.

good luck

Hi Tony, and welcome to the forum.

10x50 Bins are an excellent way to get started, and I'm sure you'll find advice from people on the forum, who are using the type of telescope you are considering.
