Total eclipse of the Sun

Postby Pete Lawrence » Thu Mar 30, 2006 10:43 am

Hi all,

Just got back from southern Turkey. Here are some of the first photos (out of hundreds taken) that caught my eye. A truly awesome experience...

Hi Will,

They are great shots with excellent colour.

Despite what I said, I ended up with ~300 shots. Lots of variations in exposure in an attempt to get one special picture. I think it's there but it may take a while to eek it out of the image data. I was quite excited to see that I'd also recorded stars in quite a few of the shots [;)].

I see you mention sunburn in your blog - I think we must have achieved more or less the same colour.

I'm currently sitting at work nodding off. See you at the next eclipse!

Pete,

I think I managed to get ~ 150 shots. I'd be interested to see those star images. I'll also email you those ones of the weird shadow effects.

Currently I'm about the same colour as one of those prominences!!![:)]

Will, were your shadow images on your c/f card? If they were then I'll have them already. I passed your photos on in Antalya airport btw.

My colour subsided quite fast but I did look very pink last night.

Pete,

No they were on my other camera's SD card. I'll email them soon. I'll also put them on my blog in the next few days, if I can't email them (8MB each[8|] on a dodgy email...).
