This slow motion video shows the latest high-speed planetary penetrator in testing. The projectile was fired into a 10 tonnes of ice, impacting at over 1000kmp/h. The test was was part of ESA’s Core Technology Programme and similar projectiles could be used in future space missions to search for life under the thick ice crust of Jupiter's moon Europa.
