C14 Double Open Cluster

Mark Griffith

Swindon, Wiltshire. UK

Teleskop service 8″ Boren simon power newtonian, Skywatcher NEQ6 pro mount,Atik 383L+ camera, motorised filter wheel and Astronomik filters.

Double cluster in the constellation Perseus.

Great visual object when viewed through any telescope.

Clear night but 75 percent moon in sky tonight. This put a gradient on the right hand of the image. Five minutes with a gradient removal tool soon sorted that out.

Test shot using a Hutech IDAS P2 light pollution filter in my optical train after the filter wheel.

The fast f2.8 optics captures the light pollution and has stopped me taking decent lrgb images. This light pollution filter made a big improvement.

LRGB image with 3 hours and 45 minutes of data. 44 x Lum, 16 x Red, 16 x Green, 16 x Blue 2.5 minute exposures.
