M104 Sombero Galaxy

Teleskop service 12″ Richey-Chretien telescope, Skywatcher EQ8 mount,Atik 383L+ camera, Astronomik LRGB filters,
Hutech IDAS light pollution filter.

Edge-on spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo with a prominent dust lane. 50 million light years away.

Low altiude object with a declination of -16 degrees.

Thought my image would be ruined by light pollution but end result looks good.

Bright magnitude 8.0 galaxy. Small object at only 8 arc minutes.

Data collected on two nights. 14th & 15th March.

LRGB image with 5 hours and 7 minutes of data. 16 x Lum 5 x Red 5 x Green 5 x Blue 7.5 minutes exposures.
