Skywatcher NEQ6 pro mount & Equinox 80mm refractor, Atik 383L+ camera, motorised filter wheel and Astronomik LRGB filters.

Famous galaxy that is only two million light years away from us.

Easiest galaxy to image with great dust lane and star forming region detail. Dwarf galaxies m110 and m32 nearby and add extra interest.

Used a photoshop layer mask with an unscretched version of the image.

This stopped the galaxy core being too bright and losing some of the faint dusk lane detail in the final image.

Two nights of data from the 24th & 25th July.

Four good clear this week and no moon in the way.

LRGB image with 5 hours of data. 31 x Lum unbinned, 11 x Red 11 x Green 9 x Blue 2×2 binning, 5 minute exposures.
