Mars at Opposition

The image was acquired using a Takahashi Mewlon 250 mounted on a Losmandy G11, with a ZWO ASI174MM mono camera and Baader RGB filters. A Televue 3x Barlow was also used. FireCapture 2.4 was used for capture of AVIs. Processing was carried out in AutoStakkert and Photoshop CS6.

Amateur astronomer Matt Watson captured this image of Mars from his suburban Sydney backyard at 11:40UT on Friday, May 20, 2016. Mars was just about at Opposition when this was taken, with an angular size of 18 arcseconds.
