Emission nebula in the northern reaches of the constellation Orion.
Bright object. Strong in the oxygen and sulphur component so an excellent target for a hubble palette image.
Spent a good 15 minutes on the framing. Tight in my 30 minute field of view, so made sure I was capturing as much of the nebula as possible, before starting my imaging run.
Data from two nights. 16th January & 19th January 2015. Two prefect nights for imaging cold, clear and no wind.
Slightly reduced the hygrogen alpha component in photoshop using a curve adjustment to the green channel. This reveled more of the blue oxygen component.
Sii Ha Oii image with 7 hours and 44 minutes of data. 21 x Sii 6 min, 47 x Ha 4 min, 25 x Oii 6 minute. 2×2 binning.
