Trying a not often imaged part of the heart nebula, in the constellation cassiopeia, this month.

Weak in the oxygen component even with 30 minute exposures and a photoshop blue curve adjustment.

Stronger in sulphur round the edges of the nebula. Giving a nice golden brown colour shown by using the hubble palette.

Ticky to process as the left side of the nebula is bright while the right hand side is faint.

Problem solved by using a photoshop layer mask with a less scretched version of the image.

Used an unsharp mask to highlight the detail further.

Plenty of good clear for imaging nights this month.

Data collected on six nights. 8th, 9th, 11th, 15th, 26th & 29th August 2016.

Sii/ha/oiii image with 21 hours 20 mins of data. 16 x 25min Sii,20 x 20min Ha, 16 x 30min Oiii 1×1 binning.
