Total lunar eclipse on Dec 10th, Tsukuba, Japan

Nikon D7000, Sigma 100-300mm f4 + 1.4x Teleconverter.

Images were taken at 15 minute intervals and stacked so that time increase from bottom right to top left. This series starts from second contact (beginning of partial eclipse at 12:44 UT, second image from lower right), until fifth contact (end of partial eclipse at 16:18 UT, second image from top left). The passage of the moon into Earth’s umbra is clearly visible before turning red during the full eclipse.
